Roux Wells-Jensen

Roux is an upcoming 2024 graduate of BGSU with a BA in Studio Art and Gender and Sexuality Studies, currently working from Bowling Green, Ohio.

He works in a variety of mediums, from drawing and oil painting to printmaking and ceramics. Their art practice is often guided by intellectual curiosity, whether it be for knowledge of material aspects of a new medium or deeper context of a historical/cultural/scientific concept. Much of their work intends to speak to the beauty in marginalized identities (lgbtq, disability, cultural, etc) rather than just the suffering, allowing his background in cultural studies to inform the work in both content depicted and stylistic choice.

Some of their other work reflects current fixations, whether that be those scientific concepts and historical events, or tiny plastic dinosaur models.
