BG Arts Council Meeting Minutes
Members in attendance: Lloyd Triggs, Jacqui Nathan, Melanie Stinson, Marilyn Shrude, Kevin Pierce
· Approved the minutes
· Carol not present, but we are assuming that finances are good
· Committee reports- Jacqui updates
NOW Ohio was great, good opening, 58 artists
- Wondering about interest in the NOW Ohio show, talking about getting more (new) artists
- High School students, Teachers- get more involvement from these groups
- Working on more PR through social media and posters
Winners Show coming up in October at Four Corners
Artists 4 Animals 6- NOV 1st to DEC 5th
- Getting things started and put online- October 5th is deadline for entries
- Online Entry, Juried for the awards
- Put pictures on cards of winners, sell the post cards, and then split proceeds with the WCHS
- Question of merchants being asked for cash award for the show, not for this year but maybe in the future.
- Possibility of putting names of merchants or stores on the winners of each prize
- Perhaps asking for small gift certificates
- Intake- October 29th
- Online jurying, select the winners, notify the artists
- People’s Choice Award
- made a motion, motion seconded, all approved
- announced at the close of the show
- award- maybe Art Depot or American Frame will donate
- Juror- Jane Vanden Eynden
- Ethnic Music Ensemble will perform from the College of Music
- Committee Sign Ups will be at the next meeting
- Asking Kabob It for food and contributions from members (at next meeting) for the refreshments
· Kevin is continuing to reach out on social media and promote local artists
- Need to look in to the new FB page for the arts council
- Kevin is sending it out to the email list
- He wants to get more artists to show their work in the ACE Hardware windows
· Discussion of the interest of local BG artists interacting with Toledo Artist Club, Women’s Artist Group, and other groups
Discussion of an organization of the artists in BG, networking and community
Opportunity to exhibit work and get involved in monthly exhibits

Toledo Federation of Artists- we should become member of the organization
Kevin would like a list of local artists
- Local artists, through Black Swamp
- Would like a more updated list (visual artists, musicians, etc.)
- Artwalk list of artists
Bowling Green Title Agency- $50 donation for the People’s Choice Award
