Treasury report

  • See attached written report (23 Art Walk artists have paid).
  • Motion was made by Dave to authorize an additional checking/savings account to protect BGAC assets; signers to be President Robin Gerrow and Treasurer David Saneholtz. Seconded by Jacqui / motion carried.

Committee reports

  • Membership/Programming Committee (Robin): committee has established regular meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 1:30 pm.
  • New programs include a short performance by Black Swamp Players on July 13 at the first CSA distribution event.

Old Business

  • CSA (Robin): 21 of the 25 shares have been sold. The second CSA event will be at Ginny and Scott Stewart’s home. Robin is looking for help with food vendor connections.
  • ArtWalk (Jacqui) Art Walk was a success with 23 artists. Merchants were pleased. A wrap-up meeting was held to look at artist feedback. The results were that we need to do more/earlier promotion. Suggestions included a street banner and ads in the BG Independent News and The Sentinel, also more social media reach-out. Grumpy Dave’s did not work out so well – need to require accessibility next time. Next year we will hold our central event at the WCD Library again, but appreciate the Senior Center participation!
  • Art in the Park (Jacqui) Things are shaping up, but restarting this successful event is a bit slow after Covid. Still looking for musicians and artists. Parks & Rec will do the children’s activities in the building. We have asked the Toledo Museum’s portable glass-blowing studio to come. Robin will contact food trucks. Jacqui will have posters/info out by June 20.
  • An Evening With Janet Ballweg is tentatively set for July 14, pending confirmation from Myla Marcus Winery (Leslie Madares). Moiton by Dave to authorize up to $250 for refreshments for “An Evening With” events. Second Jacqui. Motion carried.
