Eligibility and Requirements

Anyone living within 100 miles of Bowling Green is eligible to participate. Artists may submit up to three original works in any medium except time-based such as video or animation. Work must have been completed within the past two years and not previously been exhibited in an ArtSpace exhibition.  All work must be properly presented, i.e., framed, mounted or matted, with a secure hanging device (tape/string is not acceptable, except for K-8th grade artwork (K-8 may be mounted on cardboard or in a plastic sheet protector).  Printed labels (page 3) with the artist’s name, title and sale price should be attached to the upper lefthand corner on the back of each entry.

Size limitations:         2D: 4′ in any direction

                                    3D: 2’ x 2’ x 6’

A non-refundable entry fee enables an artist to enter up to 3 submissions in the following categories:

K-4th Grade (one  entry per student)

5-8th Grade

9-12th Grade

Entry Procedures

For each entry submit a jpeg photo of your artwork(s) at least 2 MB/300 DPI to A4A Images

Make sure to use the artist name and title for the name of each jpeg; for example: Tim

Brown_Fido.jpg & don’t forget  to fill out the Registration form (link on page 2).

Payment

Adult member artists: a non-refundable $15.00 entry fee*

Adult non-members: a non-refundable $40.00 entry fee*

7-12 artists: fee waived

K-6 artists:  fee waived (all accepted)

Awards

1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mentions in each category: Best Domestic Animal, Best Wild Animal, People’s Choice

Note Cards

First place award winning entries in each category will be reproduced on note cards that will be available for sale at the opening reception, at BGAC ArtSpace and at various locations in the area. Sales of the cards will benefit the BGAC and WCHS, both 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.

Calendar

September 25: Entry and payment deadline

October 3: Notification of acceptance in show and awards by email.

October 7: Delivery of accepted artwork, 3-5:30pm, to BGAC ArtSpace, 178 S. Main Street (rear entrance), Bowling Green

October 16: Opening Reception, 5-7:00pm BGAC ArtSpace

November 8: Artwork pick up,  3-5 pm BGAC ArtSpace, S. Main

Judging & Notification of Entry

This will be a juried exhibit; submission does not guarantee exhibition. Decision of the juror is final.

Applicants will be notified of acceptance into the show and if they have received an award. Special effort will

be made to include a wide variety of work and represent all of the categories in the show.

Sales and Insurance

BGAC will not charge a commission. Artwork prices should be marked clearly on entry forms. If your artwork is not for sale, please indicate that clearly (NFS). If the price is not clearly marked, the work will be labeled Not for Sale. Work will not be removed from the show until it has closed.  Work will not be insured.

Liability

Delivering an entry to this exhibition shall constitute agreement with all conditions in this prospectus. The Bowling Green Arts Council, Coyote Beads and Jewelry, and all assisting personnel cannot be held responsible for loss, damage, or breakage of artwork submitted.
