October 12, 2022

Attendance: Robin Gerrow, Tom Gerrow, Marilyn Shrude, Lloyd Triggs, Jacqui Nathan

Meeting Called to Order & Welcome 6:40pm

Approval of September Meeting Minutes as corrected M-Tom/S-Jacqui

Treasury Report: No report

Committee Reports

Membership

  • BGAC now has 25 paid members
  • The Membership Committee, composed of Jeff Dennis, Rachel Phipps, Ellen Smith, and Megan Newlove, proposed the
    following structure:

– Eliminate term Patron – use Supporters instead and also Artist Participant.

– Three levels for Business memberships/benefits:

– Silver $100 / name listed on site and specific collateral
– Gold. $250 / name & logo listed on site and specific collateral
– Platinum $500 / name & logo with a link listed on site and specific collateral plus verbal recognition

– Combine Individual and Artist levels at $25

Motion to accept: Jacqui / second Marilyn / motion passed.

  • Motion to acquire the Chamber mailing list for $45 to approach businesses: M Jacqui / S Tom / passed
  • To create more awareness and exposure, Jacqui will talk to David Dupont about including an artist profile 1-2 times per month.
  • Kathy Pereira de Almeida will distribute BGAC info to artists at the Grounds for Thought Holiday Fair on December 3.
  • Ellen Fure Smith will give a talk and show her work at the after party at Myla Marcus afterparty sponsored by BGAC. Event
    will be promoted via social media, newsletter, etc.
  • The new membership form will include committee volunteer interest checkboxes for membership, PR, Programming and Finance.

Committees

  • We need to check Bylaws regarding Exec. Committee structure.
  • PR Committee – Tom

Old Business

  • Bowling Green Community Foundation – Robin wrote a proposal for start-up funding for an “Art Share” style project. Motion to approve grant submission with budget clarifications from the Executive Committee – due 10/14: M-Jacqui / S-Marilyn / motion passes.
  • Tom will revamp the website with a new theme. Cost $75
  • Jacqui will follow up with Jenn sticker re our logo design.
  • Jacqui will continue to contact Denise Niece regarding 50+ Shades of Grey at the new Senior Center.

New Business

  • Porchfest major sponsorship for next year has sold out (Brian Young). Motion to sponsor for $200: M-Jacqui / S-Tom / motion
    passes

Announcements

  • Native American print show exhibition at BGSU
