I. Approval of February minutes- postponed.
II. Committee Reports
First Friday – Artists for Animals has been postponed until November 2015,
due to insufficient entries. Instead, the H&R Block Gallery will be reserved for
a Crim School student exhibition. There will be no opening reception. All
students who entered April’s Artist for Animals show will have their work
automatically entered into the November show. Brenda and Beth will
investigate why there were so few entries.
Art in the Park will occur on June 5th from 5pm – 7pm. June 12th is the
second date, if there is rain on the 5th.
John Calderonello has already filed the necessary paper work with BG Parks.
As already suggested, BGAC will arrange for: artists to paint on easels, musical entertainment, theatre (Black Swamp Players) performance/s, and refreshments. (Savory treats should eliminate meat since the event will be
outdoors. Cookie Jar may donate cookies? Alice and John will
donate lemonade and/or cider instead of wine. )
John is arranging a possible demonstration in the Healing Garden. No indoor space will be needed for any activities. John will create
a task sheet with Jacqui’s help and distribute it at the next meeting so that
BGAC members can be assigned to do all of the necessary work in publicizing
and arranging for the event.
Social Media – Kelsey has just set up a Twitter account and is working to put
information on the BGAC web page.
Art Walk- Entries are coming in well. Brenda just needs to hear from Barb
regarding art venues, space availability, etc.
New Business- The group briefly discussed the Fablab, which has just opened
at Woodland Mall. BGAC members were positive about partnering with the Fablab to co-sponsor an art event at some point in the future.
***THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE ON THE SECOND TUESDAY IN APRIL (APRIL 14TH) FROM 6:15 – 7:15 AT GROUNDS FOR THOUGHT.
***Please note change in time from 6:00 to 6:15
