Arts Council Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, January 12, 2016
In Attendance: Brenda Baker, Deb Shaffer, Alice Calderonello, Jacqui Nathan, Kelsey Kleine, Richard Gullett, Gail Christofferson
Approval of December minutes: Deb moved; Richard seconded. Approved.
I. Action Items
2016 BGAC Officers: proposed slate: Jacqui Nathan – President; Craig
Blair – Vice President; Alice Calderonello – Secretary. Voting postponed
until next month. Moved by Kelsey; second by Deb; Approved.
**BGAC is still looking for a Treasurer; Brenda will ask several
accountants if any are willing to serve. This is an urgent need.
II. Committee Reports
Art in the Park – Alice was directed to ask Ivan to attend the February (9th)
BGAC meeting. If that presents a conflict, then the March 1st BGAC meeting.
(March meeting has been moved up a week because of Spring Break.)
Gail Christofferson described her exciting collaborative glass mosaic project
that will be a part of Art in the Park. Gail will be enlisting the aid of local
service groups (e.g. Zontas, Kiwanis, etc.) in promoting and participating
in this project. Gail has received $5000 in grant money and asks for assistance from BGAC in writing another grant with a March deadline. Jacqui has agreed to assist with this, using a template draft that Gail will write.
**The group decided that 4:30 – 7:30 would be ideal hours for the June 10th 2016 event.
50+ Shades of Grey – The group decided that three options for registration
be available: 1) persons can register on the Senior Center website and mail
a check to the BGAC post office box; 2) persons can fill out a registration form
and send it plus a check to the BGAC post office box; 3) persons can bring
a completed registration form and check to art intake. Jacqui has agreed
to revise the pdf to reflect these options and to forward the revised
pdf to Denise so that it can go on the Senior Center website and so that
printed copies can be available at the Center.
**** The sign up sheet for members to help the show is attached. Please
notify Alice if you couldn’t attend the meeting and wish to sign up.
Art Walk – Brenda is in touch with David Dupont to ask him if he will
Chair Art Walk 2016. Jacqui and Brenda will meet with Barb Ruland
to iron out details of BGAC’s participation in Art Walk 2016.
Treasury Report – Balance as of January 2016 is $1010.05. Approximately
$500 in anticipated expenses, which includes the $400 filing fee for IRS
non-profit status.

Alice Calderonello; Nancy Stonerock; Kitty Pattay; Jacqui Nathan; Richard
Gullett (Artist); Craig Blair (Artist); Marilyn Shrude; Kelsey Kleine; Brenda
Baker; Deb Shaffer; Gail Christofferson (Artist).
Kelsey will present the 2015 annual budget report at the February meeting.
That report will be used for the 5013c and tax filing. (Brenda will resolve
the 2014 tax situation and forward that information to Kelsey.)
Web Site – Brenda has been working on the new website. Kim Turner Young, BGSU School of Art, has offered to complete and administer the website. Accordingly, Brenda will add Kim as an administrator of the site. (Jacqui will
give Brenda and Kim one another’s contact information.)
III. New Business: Brenda is asking Timmy C. if he can do a Hump Day
fund raiser for BGAC this Spring. BGAC would only need to help
publicize the event and encourage members and friends to attend and
order dinner (since a percentage of the dinner proceeds would go to
BGAC).

WEEK BECAUSE OF BGSU SPRING BREAK.
